Gousset de suspension / Hanging sleeve (1)
Un petit patchwork peut facilement être suspendu à un mur, comme un tableau. Pour cela, il suffit de prévoir un gousset au dos, et y insérer par la suite une tringle. If you plan to hang your quilt on the wall, you will need to add a hanging sleeve to the back.
1ère méthode : ajout du gousset avant la finition du patchwork, pour une fixation plus résistante, mais vous ne pourrez plus le retirer une fois cousu en place, sous le biais de finition. First method: add a hanging sleeve before binding, this will made a stronger sleeve, but you will not be able to put it away once finished.
C'est cette méthode que j'ai utilisé pour mon quilt Feather. I used this method for my Feather quilt.

1. préparer le patchwork pour la finition : vérifier qu’il soit bien rectangulaire, et que les angles soient à 90°. Prepare the patchwork for binding: square it with a square ruler on the corners.
2. découper une bande de 18 cm de large, et 1,5 cm plus courte que la largeur du patchwork, dans le même tissu que celui du dos. Cut a strip 7’’ wide, and 1/2’’ shorter than the finished width of the patchwork, in the same fabric used for the backing.
