Color works

Ouvrage de référence pour tous ceux qui utilisent la couleur dans leurs loisirs, les illustrations de ce livre sont uniques. Les échantillons photographiés représentent une variété de matériaux : laine, tricot, tissage, broderie, perle, patchwork, papier, tissu peint, etc. Chaque chapitre traite d'une couleur, appliquée à tous ces matériaux.

A reference guide book. Intended as a resource for all crafters, the book's illustrations are unique. The photographed samples are made in a variety of mediums: handspun yarn, knitting, hand painted wrap weaving, hand embroidery, beading, fabric surface design, machine embroidery, patchwork and quilting, and paper collage. Panneau central / central panel

Le charme du panneau central de mon modèle réside uniquement dans le choix du tissu : le motif de feuilles de ginkgo dorées est un ornement en soi, et la construction du panneau est donc très simple, en 5 bandes de tissu assemblées les unes sous les autres.
Comme je n'ai pas trouvé ce tissu ni un équivalent qui aurait le même effet, il a fallu que je réfléchisse à une façon différente de réaliser ce panneau.

The central panel's beauty is only because of the fabric choice: the golden ginkgo leaves design is an ornament in itself, so the assembly of the panel is very simple with 5 fabric strips sewn together.
As I didn't find this fabric nor a similar one, I had to think about how to make the panel differently.

J'ai construit ce 3ème panneau sur le modèle des 2 précédents : un espace central de mêmes dimensions, encadré de bordures. L'emplacement des geishas est divisé en 3 carrés et j'ai choisi des blocs Eventail alternés pour cet espace central.

I designed this third panel like the two others: a central area with the same width and lenght, framed with borders. The area filled by the geishas on the two firsts panels is divided in 3 squares for this panel, and I choose a Fan block for this central area.
